DEVELOPMENT OF VARIOUS PROPERTIES OWNED BY THE CITY GOVERNMENT

 

Brief Project Description:

The Iloilo City Government invites interested parties to invest in the development of various lots owned by the City.

 

Proponent: Iloilo City Government

Proposed Site: Iloilo City

 

Scale and Content:

The properties open for development are as follow:

 

  1. Sanitary Landfill Site: a 231,329- square meter lot located at Barangay Calajunan, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

 

The area is ideal for waste-to-energy project, materials recovery facility, and recycling facility.

 

  1. Barangay San Pedro Lot: a 63,904-square meter lot located at Barangay San Pedro, Molo, Iloilo City.

 

             The lot is bounded by a major thoroughfare in front and the scenic Iloilo River Esplanade II at the back. The location is ideal for a government center or a business and commercial complex.

 

  1. City Engineer’s Motorpool Lot: a 7,982-square meter lot located at Molo District and City Proper, Iloilo City.

 

             The area is located near a hospital, several hotels, a condominium, apartments, and   

the University of the Philippines – Visayas city campus. It is suited for a commercial

complex. The lot is strategically located and very accessible to the riding public with several public utility vehicles’ routes passing the area.

 

  1. Old Molo Slaughterhouse Lot: a 3,883-square meter lot located at the Molo District,

Iloilo City.

 

            The site connects Mandurriao and Molo districts which are gateways to western and southern parts of the province of Iloilo. The area is ideal for a terminal for river cruise.

 

  1. Reclamation Project: reclamation of 510,00-square meters of foreshore property along Barangays Hinactacan and Ingore in La Paz district, Iloilo City.

 

The proposed reclamation project is beside the current Iloilo City International Container Port. The site is ideal for an industrial park, manufacturing complex, container port terminal, or cable car terminal.

 

Preferred modality: Public-Private Partnership

 

Present Condition:

With the sustained growth of Iloilo City, and the new businesses that come in, development of these properties offer potentially good returns for the uses indicated above. Furthermore, the City Government of Iloilo is providing various assistance to investors, such as:

 

.  Grant of investment incentives as contained in the Local Investment and Incentives Code;

.  Facilitation of business permits and licenses from City Hall;

.Facilitation of access to financial and technical assistance programs of the government;

.Facilitation of service connections which local utilities; and

.Provision of other services as may be recommended by the Investment and Incentives Board.
