lloilo City’s Negosyo Center coordinators undergo training workshop ILOILO City

- Ten coordinators of soon to be established Negosyo Center of Iloilo City Government are attending a two-day training seminar conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 6 March 2 to 3. They are from Local Economic and Investment Promotions Office (LEIPO), Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), Iloilo City Youth Development Council, and City Planning and Development Office (CPDO). They will man the city’s Negosyo Center. The city government is soon to operationalize its Negosyo Center within this year. “One of the priority programs of the city government is the development of micro-small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the city of Iloilo,” said Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog in his opening message. Negosyo Center is a one-stop-shop for services that will cater to the entrepreneurs’ need in processing requirements to establish a business, and in accessing information essential for their growth. At the same time, the Negosyo Center will be responsible for promoting ease of doing business and facilitating access to service for MSMEs within its jurisdiction. Among the services to be offered by the city’s Negosyo Center are Business Registration, Business Advisory, and Business Information and Advocacy. The Negosyo Center of DTI was formulated through the passage of Republic Act 10644 or the Go Negosyo Act, authored by Senator Bam Aquino. Under the said Act, all provinces, cities and municipalities are mandated to establish a Negosyo Center. (Iloilo City PIO)
